Convert Setbacks Into Comebacks To Materialize Your Dreams and Goals – Part 2

Setbacks are Opportunities To Materialize Your dreams and Goals

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Convert setbacks into comebacks to materialize your dreams and goals – Part 2

The mini-serie ‘Convert Setbacks Into Comebacks’ is part eight of The ‘Materialize Your Dreams and Goals’ Series by Ines Nangue from NurtureBodyandSoul.com

Setbacks are Feedbacks and Opportunities for Growth

I’ve grown most not from victories, but setbacks. If winning is God’s reward, then losing is how he teaches us. – Serena Williams

Sometimes we get so caught up in the details of our daily processes and our expectations that we forget the big picture. We forget what is truly important. The setbacks come to awaken us from our habitual routines and remind us to take a look at the grand scheme.

Think about it if you never met setbacks in you life you would think that you are superhuman and that you have nothing left to learn.

But life per definition – at least in my definition – is a learning process. Life teaches you lessons over and over again until you get it. And once you get it, you’re brought other new challenges to master.

Those renewed challenges continuously teach you the next level of mastery, or they teach you mastery in another area of your life that needs your attention.

Since setbacks are so precious feedback and and an opportunity to learn, isn’t it wise to just embrace them in the midst of the apparent chaos before the vail get lifted and we can see clearly?

Even better, attract them. Instead of fearing challenges, say to the universe “Bring it” I’m ready. And ask for the wisdom and strength necessary to deal with them.

You can’t be given something that you don’t have the capability to resolve or for which you aren’t prepared anyway.

And yes you might need to learn some new skills or acquire some new resources in order to master a particular setback, but you’ll definitely be challenged to the strengths of you ability, and to the level of your current strengths

Setbacks can be great opportunities

  • to revise your why
  • to redefine your priorities
  • to reinforce your discipline
  • to start over and/or continue or sometimes change trajectory if necessary
  • to strengthen your mindset
  • to go to the next level of mastery

Take Personal Responsibility When Facing Setbacks

“Failure is an opportunity. If you blame someone else, there is no end to the blame.
Therefore the Master fulfills her own obligations and corrects her own mistakes.
She does what she needs to do and demands nothing of others.” – Lao Tzu

It ‘s so easy to point the finger and look for someone to blame when something unexpected comes our way.

Although in finding someone to blame, we just throw the ball at someone else and stop looking for the lessen to learn, for the opportunity to grow.

The not so easy path requires you to look inside to find out where your personal responsibility lies, not in order to blame yourself – that’s unfruitful – but to discover what the unexpected setbacks brings you as lessons.

What benefits do you get from this?

What drawbacks would you get if the situation was not exactly the way it is right now?

Are there opportunities to grow?

Answering these main question require you to access your inner wisdom through introspection self reflection and meditation. The results – the answers – will shift your perception to a balanced equanimous mind.

Part 1: Embrace Your Setbacks

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Convert Setbacks Into Comebacks To Materialize Your Dreams and Goals Part 1

This is part eight of The ‘Materialize Your Dreams and Goals’ Series by Ines Nangue from NurtureBodyandSoul.com

“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.” – Confucius

Drifting in pure joy from listening to her favorite classical songs, almost elated she melt in the beauty of the rhythm, enjoying every detail of the sound she hears with her headphone. Her fingers were fluttering up and down her keyboard like butterflies and letters and words were pouring on her screen.

She was overcome with inspiration, determination and the urge to share the lessons from her experience with others.

To Inspire.

Why am I telling you this story and what does it have to do with how to deal with setbacks?

Well, not too long before that moment she was feeling frustrated, angry, depressed and discouraged because she was facing a major setback on her journey to her most meaningful goal. She felt discouraged and almost flirted with giving up.

Mary felt like she was failing at building her own online business. She was busy doing things but was dissatisfied with her results.

Such feelings can arise when you perceive that your reality doesn’t match your expectations on the journey to achieving any goal that you’ve set for yourself.

Especially when you are not prepared for the setbacks you meet or when your expectations are unrealistic in this moment of your journey.

We all have to deal with setbacks or failures in some point or another in our life.

So how to deal with those inevitable setbacks without loosing our sanity and our courage.

Setbacks are not the enemy, embrace them

“A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.” – Albert Einstein

Do you remember the pump up feeling you had at the beginning of a very important project? It goes like this: You get inspired to start something new, or to re-start something again – Like

  • to read one book per week
  • starting and managing your own business
  • rebooting your health
  • learning another language
  • finally learning to play the guitar
  • re-starting to meditate daily again
  • deepening the relationships that matter most to you
  • empowering your financial situation
  • — etc

You can feel the blank with what your biggest dream is, or what your next high priority goal is.

In moments like the beginning of an exciting project, you think that this time is different because you’ve grown so much since your last project or attempt, you got new insights from the latest book you read, the last video you watched, the last audio or from your last course or seminar you attended.

You think: This time will be SUCCESS because you are soo ready for this and soo committed. Enough is enough, this is my time to shine. You said to yourself.

And you engaged with massive action and unrecognizable discipline for the first days or weeks or months.

And then … its strike you suddenly like the lightning hits a tree during a thunderstorm.

You meet the inevitable setbacks.

You think this is the enemy, trying to keep me from achieving my dream or my goal.

That something happened:

Maybe you got sick or a loved one needed you to be there for them with your time and attention. Or you see your biggest fear unfold in front of your eyes instead of that dream situation come true as in your planning.

Bottom line is something unplanned comes your way.

And there you are at the crossroads of making a choice: How will you behave in the face of these setbacks?

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Setbacks are an opportunity to grow

The first step is to embrace it all. It feels like chaos at that moment, but there is a reason why each event happens. There is a divine order, which makes even our biggest setbacks our ally.

Resisting setbacks is just going to bring more of the unwanted feelings of frustration and anger, blame and discouragement.

Setbacks are inevitable. They are an integral part of life as a learning process.

In order to shift from a state of resisting setbacks to a state of embracing them you can

Start with gratitude. Why?

Whatever happens on you journey to your goal is helping you to get to your goal.

It can be difficult to realize it in the midst of an event that is disturbing your plans and projections and expectations and while you’re struggling, but the truth is setbacks are not the enemy, they are your ally on the journey to materialize your dreams and goals.

Be grateful because with every setback comes an opportunity to grow.

Do You Want To Feel Understood When Communicating?

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Want to feel understood when communicating?

I got the request from readers to talk about relationships and communication skills.

What a great idea, because with the holiday season coming soon, we’ll be dealing with our relatives and other relationships even more intensively, and this usually happens with some kind of stress.

Do you know this situation: we want to communicate and to be in a dialogue with the people we care about, but sometimes we end up in alternating monologues: each person is talking to the other person, but nobody feels understood.

To end the alternating monologues, great communication really comes down to knowing what the priorities of the other person are and then respecting them and communicating in terms of those priorities.

This will ensure that you feel understood when communicating, and the other person too will feel understood. Ideally, we want each person to communicate in terms of the priorities or what is most important to the other person.

By the way, this is my brother on this picture, great at communicating. Just
like my man who was too busy with the kids to take pictures. We celebrated my daughter’s 3rd Bday this weekend. Can you believe she shares the same Bday as Marie Forleo.

Conflicting priorities create conflict in communication, but by opening our heart and asking the right questions we can find a field of harmony, where the priorities of the people involved meet.

Ask yourself for example: How does his or her priority help me achieve what is important to me and vice versa: How are my priorities helping them get what they want.

This video of Dr John Demartini perfectly explains how to add value in our relationships.

Strengthen Your Mindset – Materialize Your Dreams and Goals Part 4

The mini series ‘Strengthen Your Mindset’ is part seven of The ‘Materialize Your Dreams and Goals’ Series by Inès Nangue from NurtureBodyandSoul.com

Strengthen Your Mindset part 4 – physical environment, winning habits and bonus

Is your physical environment stressful? Do your daily and weekly habits and routines serve your dreams and goals?

So far in the mini series ‘Strengthen Your Mindset’ which is all about tips for a strong mindset materialize your dreams and goals, we’ve covered:

Today we want to cover your physical environment and winning habits as they relate to mindset and there is a bonus too.

6- Your physical environment

Environment: your environment, where you live, where you work and also the people you interact with on a daily basis influences how you feel, how you think and act thus it influences your results.

If your environment is messy, it makes you feel overwhelmed. And you don’t want to deal with that mess so take time daily to tidy up your environment. It’s also a great skill to teach our children instead of always doing the tidy up for them.

On the other hand you feel inspired and motivated when you’re in a cleaned, organised and tidy environment, and your thoughts seems more organised as well.

People are drown to an orderly pleasant environment, so do your best to keep it tidy, and to nourish pleasant relationships as well. I love The magic of tidying up by Marie Kondo and The Heart of Love by Dr. John Demartini for relationships.

7. Create winning habits that support your dreams

NurtureBodyanddSoul.com – Winning habits strengthen your mindset

Our mindset is an habit that we develop over time. It is an attitude. So what you do on a daily basis is what is going to really strengthen your mindset.

From the previous blog post, here is what you can do everyday:

Know that you’re in it for the long haul. Be perseverant with the habits that you build.

Your habits define your destiny. So create winning habits that are congruent with your highest priorities and eliminate habits that don’t serve you.

The best way to do this is to first understand at the root why you have the habits that you have, good or bad, and the benefits that you get from them.

Then link the habits you want to create to what is already important to you and start with baby steps, then increase as you get momentum and strength. Atomic habits by James Clear is a great resource to start creating winning habits and eliminating habits that don’t serve you..

Bonus: Breathe, Meditate, Trust, Love and Receive

Love: All things LOVE. Self love, love of others, do what you love and love what you do. This is the ultimate mindset strengthener and brings us back to gratitude because with love, we are truly grateful for everything.

Meditate: This is in my opinion the most powerful of all the techniques you can use to strengthen your mindset and manifest your dreams and goals. Like I explained in ‘Being Present on the Journey To Materialize Your Dreams and Goals’.

Trust – trust – trust

Trust yourself to do what it take. take responsibility for where you are and create change and momentum by your consistent focused aligned actions.

Trust something bigger than yourself – Trust God/ divine Intelligence and trust the process. Ask your Soul for guidance. Like I said above in the gratitude and balanced mind section, there is a divine order, a divine perfection, a divine intelligence that permeates and orchestrates everything. Who are we not to trust.

Trust the process, be present and enjoy your journey to your biggest dreams and goals. Because no matter if you’re aware of it or not, you’re exactly at the right place, at the right moment and with the right people.

The techniques above applied with focus, dedication and repetition with will help you break free from your limiting beliefs and transform your self image at the level of your subconcious mind. This will enable you to materialize your dreams and goals.

In your heart lies your inner wisdom and it knows exactly what you would absolutely love to do in this life time. Unlock that inner wisdom with courage, gratitude and awareness of the present moment.

Most importantly trust the process no matter how your journey unfolds, you’re exactly at the right place.

Give yourself the gift of cultivating and maintaining a strong mindset on your journey to your biggest dreams and goals.

And give yourself permission to do something extraordinary with your life.

Next we’ll examine how to deal with setbacks

Strengthen Your Mindset To Materialize Your Dreams and Goals – Part 3

Nurturebodyandsoul.com – how to strengthen your Mindset part 3

Strengthen Your Mindset is part seven of The ‘Materialize Your Dreams and Goals’ Series by Ines Nangue from NurtureBodyandSoul.com

Do you find yourself comparing yourself to other and feeling depressed or discouraged? Feeling like your life is boring as a result? Then keep reading till the end. Strengthen your mindset.

So far we’ve covered:

Your relationships not only the people you spend most time with but also what you consume online through social media and your environment influence your mindset.

Nurture your support group to strengthen your mindset

Nurture your support group to strengthen your mindset

Your support group are the people who love you, they encourage you, they support you and also challenge you enough by inspiring you to investigate even deeper what you want and to stay on track with your dreams and goals.

Common sense has it that you’re the average of the 5 people you most spend time with.

Surround yourself with like minded people who believe in you and who believe that

  • your dream is possible, that
  • you are in the process of achieving your dream and your goals.

Staying engaged with your support group will strengthen your mindset

Talk to the people of your support group regularly, especially individually and tell them

  • what you’ve accomplished so far,
  • the challenges you’ve faced,
  • the challenges/setbacks you’re facing
  • what you want to do next and why, etc.

It’s even better when you have experts in your support group about the topics you’re interested about, but it’s not a prerequisite. Make sure to analyze any advice you receive though, because well intentinated people can give inadequate advice without being aware of it.

Utopia or sound Advice?

Have you heard about people suggesting or advising that you leave your current friends if they don’t support your dreams and goals and find new ones who do?

It’s utopia to only want one side, like only support without challenges or only success without failure.

While it’s wise to have friends that support your dreams and goals, I do not recommend that you cut out your current relationships just because they don’t support your goals. For two reasons:

1- life is both support and challenges, not only one side without the other, and so it is with your dreams and goals. They need both the support and challenges to expand.

The people who do not support your dreams and goals are necessary for you to be challenged and to go to your next level, or to study your plan and strategy more clearly in order to materialize those dreams and goals.

2- You might be the necessary catalyst in the life of those people who don’t support or understand your dreams, to inspire them to find their own dreams and fulfill them.

Focus your attention on materializing your own dreams and goals, use the objections of the Nay sayers to refine your strategy.

Make sure to build a strong support group around you to fuel your ambition with your dreams and goals while you listen to the challenges that come from the nay sayers around you and inspire them through exemplification from the momentum you create towards realizing your dreams and goals.

Don’t compare yourself to others = strong mindset

Okay, do you love to scroll social media in order to find inspiration? And then before you know it you feel the low and feel like your life is boring because you’re comparing yourself to others?

Do not compare yourself to others around you. Be it on social media or in real life, when you start comparing yourself to others, you’ll always find something you think you should have, be or do by now and feel negative feelings like envy or jealousy or competition.

First be aware of what has already be given to you in your life. Second admire and use as inspiration what you see in others. If you can see it in them, then it’s already in you in your own form. So use the things you admire as inspiration to awaken then in you as well.

It’s easy to feel like your life is boring in comparison to someone else’s. The thing is you never know what it’s really like to be in the shoes of the people you envy, what did they have to sacrifice to be where they are that you are not willing to sacrifice.

Like Emerson said

Envy is ignorance and Imitation is suicide – Emerson

You’re unique. So instead of comparing yourself to others, compare your own daily actions to your own biggest dreams and goals.

Instead of watching what others are doing , make sure that everyday, you do at least one thing that is bringing you closer to your dreams and goals.

Take action and stay focused and disciplined in following your own dreams and goals, and you’ll feel your energy levels getting higher and higher, because you’re fulfilling your own destiny..

Your dreams belong to your heart and you are exactly at this moment at the perfect place, with the perfect people, doing the perfect actions that will lead you to fulfill your destiny.

Your special gifts, unique to you, are needed in the world. So stay inspired and present on your journey to your biggest dreams and goals.

Disease – Crisis or Blessing?

Due to disease strengthen your mindset to materialize your dreams and goals part 3 has been delayed.

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Crisis or Blessing

Wisdom is the instantaneous recognition that crisis is a blessing. – Dr. John Demartini

Do you feel guilty for being sick or can you be grateful for a disease? or a health condition or any issue you have had in your life for that matter?

I hope you’re well, since I’ve being struggling with a cold for the past couple of days myself, after 5 months of strong health. Probably due to changing weather and not enough sleep, and the inner work, I guess.

Your happiness and fulfillment in life are proportional to the depth of your gratitude.

I hear you asking. Why Inès and How?

Well, on one hand, it’s easy to be thankful when things go our way, we get elated and we express our gratitude, we feel happy.

On the other hand, we’re more likely to get resentful and avoid talking or writing about subjects that have a negative connotation to them in our mind, like disease or challenges or insecurities.

Therefore we might have a hard time being grateful for them and as a result we feel resentful, angry or miserable.

But if we can recognize the benefits that they can bring us, then we’ll have no problems being grateful for them.

Thus no matter what happens in our life, we can embrace it for what it is, because events always have both sides: the positive and the negative, the challenges and the benefits.

The side on which we focus grows, and dictates the way we perceive things.

Wisdom allows us to see both sides at the same moment and to therefore be balanced. But usually we perceive only one side, live in imbalance and are judgmental.

Isn’t it interesting how sickness reminds us how valuable good health is?

Illness and its symptoms are a way for our body to give us feedback on how we’ve been living in the past and a suggestion to adjust our way of living in the future.

And what to do with illness in the present?

Listen to it, live in the present, not in the past with regrets or in the future with fear.

Slow down, learn from your challenge, take a break, be kind to yourself, balance your emotions and your mind.

Our body already has the magnificent power to heal itself, with our immune system, if we offer the right environment for it to do so:

  • enough sleep,
  • the appropriate nutrition and
  • water intake,
  • fresh air
  • reduction of toxicity,
  • stress management,
  • exercise,
  • balanced mind and emotions, mindset
  • practice gratitude
  • a fulfilling life
  • mindfulness, meditation
  • etc

The connection between our mind and our body is undeniable and so can balancing our mind and living a more fulfilling life help us to heal faster.

Do you have a health condition that robs you from you energy, or from your self-confidence?

Consider being grateful for your health condition or illness or any issue you might have. It sounds counterintuitive, I know.

But finding the benefits you get from your condition can help you be more grateful for it.

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Blessing: Healthy Foods

Some example of benefits:

  • people around you care about you more because of it
  • you take better care of your body, mind and soul because of it
  • you focus on other aspects of your life where you have more strengths
  • you develop other skills that make you more interesting
  • you gain more self-confidence and learn to embrace yourself as you are now
  • you are more authentic and live a more fulfilling life, etc

You know, a long time ago, I suffered from acne and had itchy keloid on my chest. That situation which lead me to research about my condition.

As a result, I started focusing even more on body mind-connection, self development, healthy living, embarked on a balanced lifestyle journey to improve my condition.

This was one of the reasons between others that lead me to create a website to share tips I’ve learned that have helped me along the way: self actualization, holistic success, happiness and fulfillment, productivity, etc. to create a balanced fulfilling life: NurtureBodyandSoul.com was born.

Although I still have the keloid, it is no more itchy and the acne is gone.

At the beginning I was so concerned about the keloid growing on my chest, and I found it unaesthetic.

Now, as I ‘m growing, I’ve accepted to embrace it, to see it as a beautiful perfect imperfection, a part of me, you know, like a natural jewelry to be grateful for and for what it brought in my life indirectly.

Of course I also have moments where I wish the keloid wasn’t there, because just like everybody, I’m human.

I have both sides in my perception, the positives and the negatives, the benefits and the challenges, and I don’t always see both sides at the same time in balance.

What about you? Do you struggle with a health condition? If so, how can you be grateful for it? What benefits are you getting from it?

By the way, this apply to any issue or challenge we may have in life, not just health conditions.

The more we can be grateful in our life for all possible things and circumstances, “good and bad”, the more happiness and fulfillment we can experience.

Stay healthy and embrace wellness no matter what condition you have, it’s here to serve you.

Strengthen Your Mindset And Materialize Your Biggest Dreams And Goals – Part 2

NurtureBodyandSoul.com – Strengthen your mindset part 2

Strengthen Your Mindset is part seven of The ‘Materialize Your Dreams and Goals’ Series by Ines Nangue from NurtureBodyandSoul.com

Strengthen Your Mindset Part 1: A balanced mind and gratitude – Self-care and exercise

Do you already do the following everyday?

Visualization, affirmations and taking inspired focused action towards your goals and dreams.

Today we cover these and more as a mean to strengthen your mindset and materialize your dreams and goals.

Strengthen Your Mindset Part 2

Visualization, Affirmations and Inspired focused actions

3. Visualization and affirmations to strengthen your Mindset

Visualization: See with your mind’s eyes what you want to be, do and have, not only as an image, more like a movie. Find pictures and videos that inspire you, see yourself with what you want and feel the feelings it generates within you.

You can also create a mind movie like I learn by reading/listening to Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza. With images, video footages, music and phrases that inspire you. There are some inspiring mind movies on youtube, and I suppose the more personalized the better.

Affirmations:

Your internal dialogue is what defines what you become. What you think and feel on a continual basis is what you’ll become.

So repeat to yourself in the present tense a belief you want to have and feel what it feels like.

NurtureBodyandsoul.com – Visualization and Affirmations to Strengthen Your Mindset

Whatever you want to accomplish, say to yourself that you can and give yourself permission to accomplish it.

Give yourself permission to accomplish the most extraordinary things that inspire YOU from within and know that you can. Set an action plan to back it up and trust.

The words you tell yourself are very powerful. If you repeat them with feelings and faith, you’ll start believing it. It doesn’t matter if it’s true or not, if you keep telling yourself the same things, your subconscious mind will believe it.

Make sure to intentionally choose what you repeat to yourself everyday. Make it even stronger with actions and feelings that are aligned to your affirmations.

Tip: Use a recorder app on your phone and read to yourself with feelings, your most inspiring affirmations. Add your favorite music in the background, may be an instrumental. Listen to this recording over and over again whenever you can.

For example listen to your affirmations when you go for a walk or to run in nature, or when you wait in the supermarket, when you take actions on your goals, when you cook, etc.

Feel the feelings of having it now: this is very powerful since our mind cannot differentiate what we imagine and what is happening in the outer world when we feel the feelings.

Short video about affirmations on instagram, follow me while you’re there.

4. Taking inspired focused actions out of the comfort zone strengthen your mind

Your Action Plan: taking action starts with the planning. So take the time to plan your life, your dreams, your goals. Also take the time to plan your year, your month, your week and your day.

At the end of each day plan the next day in advance, and in the morning set your intention for the priority actions you want to accomplish that day.

Take action: You are co-creator in the process of bringing your dreams to life. To write down your dreams and goals is the first action after the thought process.

Taking action doesn’t necessary mean that you need to do the thing right away. Writing down is a form of taking action. Researching and learning is also part of taking action. Always keep learning in life.

Experimenting and failing and then experimenting some more all part of taking action. Until you perform greatly, and then there already something else/new you would love to learn to go to the next level and the whole process starts again.

Out of a comfort zone: Do everyday something that takes you out of your comfort zone. It might be something totally unrelated to your goal, like taking a cold shower in the morning or doing something you’re afraid of.

But since we’re in the context of materializing your dreams and goals, do something from you action plan that you know is important for you to achieve your goal, but you are uncomfortable or afraid to do it.

Courage: So take massive action with courage, persistence and consistency and at the same time don’t be too attached to the outcome. Do your best towards your dreams and goals, give it everything while taking care of yourself and your loved ones of course, then ‘Let Go and let GOD’.

Delegate what is distracting or what feels uninspiring to you. Is there someone else who can do this better than you? then delegate it to them.

The techniques above applied with focus, dedication and repetition with will help you break free from your limiting beliefs and transform your self image at the level of your subconcious mind. This will enable you to materialize your dreams and goals.

The Importance of an Action Plan to Achieve Your Goals

“If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!” – Benjamin Franklin

An action plan helps you to know what needs to be done in order to materialize your dream or goal.

It helps you to direct your focus on the priority actions to take in order to see progress in the process and to get the desired outcome.

It includes the sub-steps, who is responsible for what (delegation can ease a lot of things for you), and a time to accomplish the tasks, as well as some notes about the possible challenges and the solutions for them.

So ask yourself this question: What will it take to achieve my goals? To materialize my dreams?

Find out the major steps you will need to take, these are your subgoals and then chunk them down into doable sub-steps.

Be aware of the obstacles that you will encounter and have a plan for them too. Schedule it on your calendar. If you don’t plan then your plan is to fail.
